check disk

Hallo everybody,

My fs215b is starting to give me some problems.:smileycry:
Last week Ihad to do a full recovery.
And since that when I start up the computer the d disk does a scan, I can't stop this, and I can't defrag de d disk.
Can someone help me, I don't know what to do:smileysad:

Go to Run/MSConfig/startup and see if there you can remove the scan in startup (I assume nortons). Personally I would rebuild or reformat again if you can't defragment then you will run into big problems later.

hy tony,

the problem is with the windows scan disk, it automatically scans the D disk, finds no problems, and does it every time I start up. Whem I try do defrag the D disk it says that there is a disk scan sheduled. I've run the msconfig but found no entry.

If you go into scheduled tasks you will probably find an instance of it.
That is in control panel

that is one of my problems, there is no reference to that task, not even hiden. I really don't know what to do

Try this:

1. Click on your start menu and open the run dialog.
2.Type "cmd" and hit return (note: dont enter quotes with this or any of the following)
3. Next type "fsutil dirty query d:" hit return.
4. If the return message indicates that the volume is dirty go to step 5
5. Next type "chkdsk d: /f /x" hit return.
6. After that finishes repeat step 3.
7. If it is no longer dirty then reboot and hopefully it will not run chkdsk.

Try scheduling a scan task and then undoing it again that might remove it:smileygrin:
