I know that this will be a huge inconvenience, but I suggest that you return your notebook for repair. If the keypad is misaligned it will be covered by warranty and although you could attempt a DIY repair is it worth the risk?

Bought a Tx1XP. Very happy xcept noticed a couple of horizontal marks on the screen. When I inspected the keyboard the left side is sitting higher than tyhe right which means the keys are touching the screen when closed. Can I sort this or is it a warranty return. After a week I can't sfford to loose the machine.

George

The left side of my keyboard on my TX1XP is also higher than the right. Looks like a production or design "feature".

I was just about to reply that you must have an incorrectly mounted keyboard, then I took a closer look and mine is the same. But you can only see it if you take a close look from the front. I haven't noticed it until I checked. I guess the "stuff" (under the keyboard) to the left is slightly thicker than the "stuff" to the right.

It's not thick enough to touch the screen when closed though.
