My wife just got an A9ii and having problem setting function menu. She wants to add "drive mode " to a Fn menu slot. However the drive mode slot is greyed out and not available. If this is never available why is it there. I have an A7ii and can do this on my camera so I thought maybe it is because the A9ii has a dedicated wheel for drive mode and also for exp comp .

However the A7iii has dial for exp.comp and can have a slot in the Fn menu.

After reading the last question here I would like to know if this is indeed a software problem, sorry "glitch", or not.Also how many other people are experiencing this? could it be a "bad batch" of A9ii's?

Basically, can you assign drive mode to the Fn menu on a9ii or not?

maybe I'm asking a dumb question but isn't the option to change the drive mode assigned to the Fn menu anyhow? I'm asking as I don't have an A9 but found this in the online help.

Thanks for the reply, as you say you don't have an A9ii and they are different to the A7ii etc. The problem with our A9ii seems to be that it needs the firmware updated to solve a "glitch" in registering items to the Fn menu.

As well as this, on the A9ii , because it has a dedicated mode dial, no means to add to fn menu.
