Phone Incompatible with SONY A6400

I have just purchased a SONY A6400 and am very interested in utilising the smartphone functions i.e. transferring images from camera to phone, and remotely operating the camera using my phone. I currently have a OnePlus 7T and will not be changing over to a different device.

The app Sony uses for accessing the smartphone functions 'Imaging Edge Mobile' does not seem to be compatible with my OnePlus, which uses Android 10 as it's OS. I will not be keeping the camera if I cannot use the smartphone functions. Is there any workaround for this, or must I return the camera?

Error message on camera when trying to connect to phone is; Something came up. The application has cancelled the request to choose a device.

Is it possible to make them connect using the NFC connection method?

I've found that to often work when direct WiFi failed
