NEX5N Firmware updater 1.01 will not find camera

I have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1. I have set my camera's USB Connection to "Mass Storage" mode, and when I connect it to the computer using the USB cable the screen shows:

USB Mode

Mass Storage

-USB-

But the firmware updater refuses to find a connection. I've tried both USB sockets with the same result. I checked the Windows "Devices and Printers" screen and that shows the NEX-5N with with an icon that looks like a USB hard drive.

Any suggestions anyone?

Hi Martin

Have you checked that the camera battery is fully charged?

The only other thing I can think of is the USB cable. Sony recommend using the one that came with the camera; if you don't have it, try a brand new cable.
