I have found the answer from photobuf on Flickr. He suggested altering the cameras clock (Iadvanced it 1 year) and doing a reset and initialize. This made the camera reset it's black levels and all is well again. Sony support take note. I was told to return the camera and that would have ment no camera until February 2012!!!

I have now sorted the internal and external mic switching out on my third Sony A77. Now I find it has a nasty red spot that shows up when videoing in dark scenes! It also shows how hard the steady shot works. I have uploaded a sample video file to flickr but it does not show so much unless viewed in HD. I have attached a close up of the spot via screen capture..Must be a way to cancel the effect of the spot in software... I will have to phone Sony again...

Message was edited by: Supplyimaging

Message was edited by: Supplyimaging
