When I run PMB56_updater1105a.exe I get the message: "The connection to the download server has failed". How to solve this?

Hello pahofst,

Quite often, this sort of error can happen if the software that is trying to access the internet is being blocked by a local firewall on your PC/Laptop. To see if this is the cause, try temporarily turning off the firewall and then see if the download works.

Thank you very much for your esponse.

I had already tried it, but: same situation when firewalll is turned off.

Moreover:

1. In the Windows Firewall exceptions, programs and services, PMB and PMB Launcher have been checked as admissable exceptions.

2. Display a notification when Windows Firewall blocks a program is checked. Result: no notification when running PMB56_updater1105a. exe.

I have requested Sony to send me (or give access to) a new, last revision, full install PMB file, but did not receive an answer.

I would be grateful if you would have a solution.

Open task manager and kill the PMB Volume Watcher.exe and try to run PMB updater again.

Same problem with PMBVolumeWatcher.exe killed. Still shows cannot access location.

Hi, I killed volume watcher on my laptop as well but still have the same error. Strangely I also had the same version of pmb on my desktop which is hardwired to the router and it updated fine. As soon as I get a chance I will try the laptop on a network cable.
