WF1000X - Headphone issue - The left earpiece flashes red constantly when placed in the charge case.

The left earpiece flashes red constantly when placed in the charge case and when removed will not turn on automatically or when you hold the power button. I cannot do a factory reset and now cannot get these headphones to work at all. I have had them for just over a year with no issues. Has anyone else had this issue and know of a solution?
