Problem with headset with detachable mic

I am using my hyperx cloud 2 headset with my z3 and it work fine. However, when i detach the detachable mic from the headset, the phone does not recognize the headphone any more and when i plug the mic back in it works fine.

Is there any ways to fix it, cause I just want to listen to music and don't want the mic attached.

BTW, the cloud 2 uses a single headset jack (audio&mic).

Welcome to the community.

It is difficult to guarantee full functionality with third party products. In this case I would recommend you contact the manufacturer of the headset.

Just to confirm though, do you experience this issue with any other phone?

I'm afraid i can't say for sure but it might work if you force the output to the headset using the 3:rd party app SoundAbout from Google Play.
