Hi there, I have been experiencing the behaviour in the subject line since installing the Marshmallow firmware upgrade. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Firmware version is 23.5.A.0.575.

I would like this option to remain active permanently, rather than having to switch it back on each time I boot the phone.

That's a feature that turn off by itself at each reboot. It's not up to Sony to edit that function but Google who won't do such thing because it may drain battery and provoke high data usage.
