So ive got my new z3 from Sony for free because the last 1 had water damage because the adhesive wherent properly inserted. Now this phone works underwater but it keeps saying that i have inserted my headset and its very annoying because it can stay like that for 1 hour until it dries out. I heard that only s4 active had this problem. I remember my z1 never seen that. But in z3 it keeps saying unplugged headset / plugged in headset. Is it normal or should i contact sony again -.-?

Wait for the 3.5mm jack to be fully dry, also it wouldn't hurt to restart your phone and if that doesn't work try

settings > apps > all > smartconnect > clear data > restart your phone > check again

Hello.

I have the same problem. I already reseted all settings of SmartConnect, I've checked the dust in a jack. And I've tried restart my phone. I have two headphones which work in my computer (MacBook) but didn't work in my phone. How I can check jack or do I need contact to the service?

Yes, best thing is contact the service. My device was replaced due to many problems ;

Not working jack

Light part on the screen made by a part pushing the screen.

Clicking part on the back cover because the part touchching the screen was squeezed and it made a minimal space between cover and the part

Cracked back glass made by it self. Ive showed there was no damage made to the device and if it was dropped it would have a bigger crack, scratches and scuffs.

Unglued grills while putted in water

Not clicking volume down botton. What i mean is that it doez work but its hard to find it in dark because it doesn't do the clicking its like squeezed inside

Long time to auto focus the camera even when the lens are not scratched

All those problems in 1 faulty device, can you believe?

Oh btw the jack is a software problem. Do this
Restart device,
Plug in the headset immediately and play music. Should work. But then you need to reset the device to make the speakers play the music, otherwise phone will still think that headset are plugged in.
Do a software repair by pc companion. I told the shop its broken but it was just software problem. Even tho it was replaced due to alot other problems.

Thanks a lot! Worked for me! The jack port had some dust and dirt so the plug could not get to the end of the jack.

:smileysmileythumbsup:
I used a wooden tooth pick to take off the dirt from the jack port.
