Z2 Call issues

Hello people i got my new Z2 on tuesday and im fairly impressed with it so far

only real issue im having is on a call the other day the other person went from coming through really clear to not being able to hear them at all and stated that i sounded very bassy at times this hasnt really reproduced itself much and others have said i sound clear enough but when recieving calls the other person sounds quiet alot i have done all updates required

so could this just be a network/signal issue or would it require a return to the shop ?

I haver two Z2 phones, black for myself and purple for the GF, her phone has a mic issue, everyone has a hard time hearing what she's saying, background noise cancelleation is ON but turning it OFF makes the issue worse. I can describe it like she's talking through cotton or a scarf etc. My phone works great and people hear me well over the phone and of course I receive most calls in great quality.

Any one else have this problem?

Hey Templar2k

Had the same issue with a Black Z2. My wife told me, she heared me like "in a hole", far away and so on. When i called her on her mobile it was a bit better (maybe because of HDVoice?) but on other phones she couldn't nearly hear me at all.

I then contacted Xperia Lounge and they told me do try a Software Repair via PC Companion or send back the device. It seems, that the software Repair function dit it for me.

With sofware repair you automatically wipe your phone and all your data in internal storage and flash the latest firmware available. Before starting, i had an issue because PC Companion searches for a specific Windows Update , if you don't have this installed it won't let you do the repair. It seems that the first PC i tried to use for software repair had a newer Update installed which replaced the one that PC Companion was seeking. It seems that PC Companion is not completely up-do-date with the WIndows Updates.

Anyway, I tried to Install PC Companion on another PC and here it worked. Be Careful and read all the advices if you want to try. The Option for Software Repair is in PC Companion->Update Phone i believe.

After doing this it seems that the mic Issue is gone. I've done this a week ago and my wife says now that she hears me clearly and loud.

Yes I recently got a z2 and people can't here me talk, not on all calls
Also it takes 3 to 4 seconds for some calls to connect

Hi, I bought black on 15th Aug, having mic quality, receivers having hard time hearing me. Last 10 years I used Nokia feature phone never had such an issue

So software (firmware) update worked for 1 week or so.. But my problems are back.

I have the same problem,i did pc companion,wiped my phone,the quality was a little bit better,but now it's bad again.When I plug in my earphones that's supplied with the phone,the call issue is gone.There must be something wrong with the mic,but then again the calls were better for a while after I wiped it,maybe an update causing this,but then why does the ear phones work? Any more news on this?I do not want to give my phone back for repairs only to receive it back stating that nothings wrong.

i have z2 with android 5.0.2 (23.1.A.0.726) frimware . my problem same as other

my friends cant heare my voice when i calling them . there is no solution foe this problem ?

where is sony support ?????????

my phenes from sony : xperia x10 minipro - xperia sole - xperia Tx - and my last phone is xperia z2

Same issue for me too on both my Z2 handsets. Both are brand new and people are constantly complaining that they can hardly hear me when I am using the mobiles microphone (no issues when using a Bluetooth device). Same issue on any network and I faced the issue when the phone were bought and on build 23.0.1.A.0.167 4.4.4. I still have the exact same issue after updating to the latest build 23.1.A.0.726 5.0.2. I have also run the PCC repair, however this made no difference. I have sent one of the handsets to SBE, however they have said that no fault was found.

Any thoughts on a resolution?

Had the same mic issue with my wife Z2, we both have black z2, still only her phone had this really nagging issue.

Sent it to service center twice, first time the did a software repair, still the problem persist.
Second time they replaced the phone for free.

I have the same issue and I indentified the problem to be in the connectore for headphones as while operating with headphones the quality change.

I feeling problem wgen i contact to any one then loud speakers or mic only 1 is working. Other person cant listen to me sometime. I reset the cell bt after two days same problem occur.. Any solution..?

After many months of suffering that others cant hear me, i found whats wrong with my Z2.
Go to:

settings - sound&notification - Accessory settings - Mic sensitivity
Set it to "High"
"Auto" does not work good for me.
Yes I know that it looks like this setting is for acessories.. but no, its for internal mic, you can test it in: settings - about phone - diagnostics - test - microphone.. change mic sensitivity and try this test.. on high you can hear yourself back.. on low you almost can't hear yourself back.

They are busy marking this thread as "solved" rather than offering any result or explanation.

I own a few Sony products and have had pretty crap support for all the issues I've had. I'm not surprised to find, after cutting short yet another call because the other person can't hear me, there are loads of people with the same issue and no resolution.

NEVER AGAIN SONY!
