Notification tones

Hi all, since a recent update to my Sony xperia, I can no longer set different notification tones for emails or text messages. This is annoying as I rely on texts for work. Now I am constantly having to check my phone in case it is a text for work. Any ideas? Prior to this I had a specific tone for texts and I could ignore emails.

I can see that you have posted this discussion in a general board regarding software updates. In order to be able to help you with this, It would be great if you could provide some information regarding which model of Xperia you have along with which version of Android you are running. To find this information, find and tap Settings > System/about phone.

I cleared my cache and data as per another post, now my messages are completely malfunctioning.

In order to set a specific tone for an app on your Xperia XA2, let's take the messages app as an example, find and tap Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all XX apps > Messages > Notifications > Other notifications > Advanced > Sound.

If you want to set a specific tone for incoming Emails, it is the same procedure, simply tap the Email app in the list of app instead of messages in the list after "Show all XX apps".

Okay, @Dawson66. If you go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all XX apps > Messages > Notifications > Other notifications > Behaviour. Set it to "Make sound and pop up on screen". After that the sound option should be visable.
