Notification bar not swiping down.

After update to 8.0 the notifications bar cant be swiped down on the screen except in right had corner and if I'm really careful. On lock screen it works as before the update. My touch screen is working OK although no where near as sensative as before update.

I have the same problem after 8 months. The screen test show that there is a problem in that spot. Does the guarantee cover the problem? Or i will have to pay.

I'm having the same problem with the notification bar at the top of my phone but the rest of my screen seems over sensative.

Same issue here, not related to software I guess as it started before os update..P and q are hard to be hit and the notifications bar is not swiping down at all.. Sony?!

Yeah, exact same issue here. P and other edge letters etc are often hard to get but my main gripe is the notification swipe from the top, it's not working 99% of the time and if I get it to work its from a very specific point at the top left under the sensor. So frustrating, seems the 8.0.0 screwed it right up. All diagnostic tests don't show screen issues but there clearly is.

Here the same, still no solution? I've tried almost everything.. Restart, start in safe mode, even to reset my xa1 to factory settings but it didn't work.

Faulty touch is a known issue of the XA1. From what I know, Oreo update only made it worse. Take it to your nearest Sony Care and let them have a look. Hopefully your phone is still in warranty/guarantee.

I did the same. Sony replaced my faulty one.

Probably, I think that phenomenon is a problem of not touching the edge of the screen.

Currently, there is no way to solve the problem.

There are some countermeasures if it says that it is only necessary to operate the Nortification bar.

1) Use a home application that can set gesture input, such as Nova Lancher.

2) Use applications such as Navigation Gesutures (+ Navigatio Gestures Premium Add-On) and perform operations.

3) Use the 'adb wm' command to invalidate areas that can not be touched on the screen, narrow the effective range of the screen and use it.

I think that it is useful as a first aid.

Hi, I tried the Xperia Software repair via the online download from Sony. It took 2 hours and still the issue of notification swipe from top not solved on the XA1 dual sim. Sony, can you pay heed to these issues via this forum thread please and advise?

Can anybody with this issue confirm wether the issue is present when screen is locked?

In my case, I need 3 or 4 attempts to swipe down the notification bar while in home screen, but it seems to work perfectly in the lockscreen!

I also have the same issue. I tried resetting the phone but nothing happen. No change. Sony should atleast help with this issue

i was facing same problem and finally got a replaced phone from sony. the phone was under warranty.

Me too, I'm having a hard time swiping the touch screen..and back button is not working already. It's only six 6⃣ months since i bought it

Has anyone been able to fix this. I'm having same issue!! Swipe down works fine in lock screen but for last 3 days won't work in home screen. Sony need to step up and get this fixed.
