Proximity sensor issue during call

I'm the owner of XA2 more than week and I noticed one irritating bug - during a call, after approx. first 10-20 seconds my display "awakes" and I always press Speaker button by my cheek and my conversation hear all people around. I know that it's quite common issue for many XA2 owners. Are you going to fix this issue somehow?

try to put ur phone on the right side with your ear... i mean not putting the center of the phone on the ear, more right like on the camera

That's not the solution.This issue happens always at the same time - 10/15 sec after call started, redardless of how I hold my phone. More like soft bug.

As well I'm sure I don't have to think of how to hold my phone so properly. This is not my first phone and I've never faced with such issue before.

i see it... have made a couple of calls for test my xa2 but work fine here, you guys have the last update?

the problem happen even when therer is no internet( could be an app? )

Just got 50.1.A.4.102, the funniest thing is that I received it second time. First it was installed more than week ago. Anaway I think it's only security updates. Don't know wny Sony doesn't provide changelog.

My phone almost all time connected to internet.

hmm weird! are u sure its the second time, because first therer was another update and now the last its the 102 Btw the update fix ur problem, u try a reset?

During almost every call I either mute microphone or switch on loud speaker, annoying unbelievably. Sony fix sensor!!!

This. I just bought the phone and was the very first bug I noticed. So annoying.
I contacted the assistance and they said to perform a software repair via companion. I'll let you know if it fixes something.

Update: contacted again assistance and they said I had to bring the phone to an authorized repair center and that if it would have been a software bug, Sony would have already acknowledged it and released a software fix. Since there is no software fix at the moment, it must be an hardware problem.
I asked what's the way to report a bug and they said that if repair software didn't do anything then there's no way this problem could be fixed.
Of course, I think that all of this is completely false.
Well... I'm disappointed.

I know about some software bugs in Sony's firmware for different models, that are much eisier to fix than this one but are not fixed from summer.

Assistance won't help you unfortunately, people with at least some professional knownledge don't work as assistance. They have few common instructions of what to tell clients and that's all.

The only thing we can do here is just announce and talk about such issues so that this noise really reaches developers.

Hi guys,

I have the same bug. It is quite annoying! I already had several software updates but they did not fix the problem. Are there any updates concerning the cause of the problem?

@Sony: Are you guys aware of this problem? Is this a hardware issue?
