XA2 - Problem with main camera focus

i found the auto focus for close up object (macro focus) either in maunal mode or superior auto mode not working properly unless i place the photo around 10cm far away from the object (but still the image is not very sharp). Is this the minimum distance of macro focus?

And when i change to macro focus in the manual mode (but still have to place around 10 cm far away from the object), after i press the shutter button the image on screen will become burred but the actual image is clear. Is this a bug?

As @uliwooly said, the minimum focus distance is 12cm. It is not a bug, is a lens limitation. I got good results in auto mode, placing the phone at that distance, and waiting the phone to autodetect macro mode (the little flower icon at the bottom right). If you want to take photos at a shorter distance, you can purchase a macro lens for your phone. They are very cheap and let you make photos at a very short distance, taking a lot of little details (see image below).

I get good results when making the color temp warmer and brighness slightly lower while in auto mode.

In low light i turn down the brightness almost to the min as otherwise the photos are over exposed and lose more detail

Problem is that most of barcode sanning apps fail to work on that distance. My previous Xpearia SP handles close distance better and I had no such issues with barcodes.

Hi! I have the same problem. The main camera's focus does not work properly when the distance is about 5-10 cm between the lens and the subject to be photographed. I have bought this mobile, because of the camera... and it's a great disappointment... can Sony be expected to fix the problem with a later software update? Thanks: David

I am disappointed my Xperia XA2 Dual H4133 front camera has a close-up limit.
I want to photograph my jewellery, but even in Manual mode with macro focus selected on the sliding scale I find I cannot get closer than 120mm.
What close-up attachment do you recommend?
