What should sim lock in service menu look like if phone is sim locked?

Hi @SieghartI, welcome to our forum!

If the device is locked to a specific carrier/operator, you should see a [X] to the left of "Network" in the service menu of your device. If you can see the [X] icon, check to the right of "Network" and you should see a number. This number indicates how many tries you have left to enter the correct code to unlock the network lock on your device.

You can also contact the seller from where you bought the device and ask them if the device is locked to a specific carrier/operator or not.

Well in sim lock it says 0 for network, network subset, service provider, corporate and SIM.

So is it network locked?

Hi again @SieghartI, sorry for the late reply, I have been out of office due to vacation.

Does it show "0" in the [] to the right, or to do the left of for example, "Network"?

The device is locked to a SIM network if it says "[X] Network 0", then it's locked to a specific carrier and there are no remaining attempts left to unlock the device with a code.

You can also take a screenshot of this menu and upload it here to the forum so I can take a closer look at it! To take a screenshot, press and hold the power button > tap on "Take screenshot".

It is

SIM card 1:

in the service menu SIM lock.

Thank Jonas. I was worried it might be locked to the network I brought it from because they said they only sell SIM locked phones but seeing as a SIM from another network works on it and your answer it seems to not be network locked.

You're very welcome and it does sounds strange indeed, however as you were able to use the device with another SIM card from a different operator and based on the information you provided me with, it is not locked to a specific network provider and that is of course great news!

I am not sure which post to mark as accept as solution since the solution seems to be in multiple posts.

Also I think it would be good idea if there is not a FAQ about how to check if your phone is SIM locked or not, then maybe one should be created to help other users.

Calls doesnt come in and they dont go out i cant even check airtime

Hi @Alias887, sorry to hear about this.

Do I understand correctly that you are not able to place or receive calls in your Xperia XA1? If that is correct, are you connected to the mobile network at all, if you check in the status bar?

If you aren't, try removing the SIM card and inserting it again in your device. You can also try with a different SIM card if you can borrow one from a friend, colleague or family member.

HELLO,

I have the same problem, but I called the net work I bought the phone from and they stated my phone is not locked to their network, they stated it is manufacturer locked, for which I don't understand because it was unlocked even when it was new. My phone is an Xperia z5, I even input my imei number on their website phone unlock form it states that it is not locked to their network. How can I unlock my phone so another network sim can be used?

Which carrier/network told you that it is locked by Sony?

I bought it in the UK, I am with EE, and not only was I told by the company I tested there assertions on their website. I put in my Imei and it stated that it wasn't locked to their network.

Hi i bought a un locked xa1 xperia when i received and put my Sim i found a pin sin to acces red request so i put mi pin sim and nothing hapened on the screen i read 9 attempts left. i call my provider they change my pim and try again and nothing hapened 8 attempts left so in this situation now i am 0 attemp left. what i coul do to reset attemps. i conctac the seller and he say sorry sony sen to me a lot of locked xa1 xperia and did no notice so i purchase one of these. the big problem is i am in Venezuela and is to expensive send the phone to USA. could you pleae help me. thanks

If you bought the phone on Amazon then you should email or call Amazon support to send the phone back to seller and get your money back.
