KD-65AG9 external HDD still ON

Hi, my ext. HDD drive remains permanently ON even when the TV s in stand-by. Is this normal behavior?

This is my first Sony TV and this was certainly not the case with other TV brands I had before.

Android TV has 2 standby states, one that is powered and another that is true standby. It remaining on is due to the TV switching between those two states, it's not unique to Sony TVs though, it's an Android TV-level function and is perfectly normal behaviour.

Thanks for clarification. Can I force the true stand-by mode? I had the TV on Power in stand by for few days already and it IT never entered the true stand-by, so the HDD keeps spinning.

Hi ruzicka851, there's no option to force true stand-by. If you're concerned, you might consider powering it off from the mains.
