Setting volume control from sky+ HD remote to Sony Bravia

Hi,

I'm trying to setup the volume control of a Sony KD48A9 Bravia 4K UR3 television with a Sky +HD Rev 10 controller. The procedure given on the sky.com website doesn't work for me, that failed procedure is.

The Sony TV is attached to a sony sound bar HT-X8500. Don't know if that has any impact.

Press TV on your Sky Remote
Hold down select and the red button at the same time until the red light at the top of your Sky remote flashes twice.
Enter the code 1579 and press select

Can anyone help me?

As a test, disconnect the soundbar, and then try the Sky recipe again.

This will either reveal the soundbar as the issue, or exonerate it.

Personally, I think it will exonerate it, but I don’t want to prejudge what this simple test will show.

What were the selection criteria for using 1579? Is this a generic Sky code for all Sony TVs, or is it more specific than that?
