Sony Bravia TV KD 49XE8396 resettting at random

49XE8396 keeps resetting/rebooting at random.

Somtimes OK for hours, other times reboots every few minutes.

No obvious reason whatsoever.

Tried reseating power cable, power adaptor, no effect. Fresh batteries in handset.

Unit has not had any (KNOWN) software updates ince bought (2018).

Becoming really annoying.

Advice appreciated please.

Hi, what is your current software version? Is it v6.7165? And have you tried to check the issue with no external devices connected? Had it make any difference?

I have a XG9505 55"" TV [approx 6 mths old], and has also just started doing similar in the past 10 days or so. Similar as you described, turns off, a black screen for approx 10 seconds and then reboots. Checked for updates, that was fine. I too was going to check all the connections and change the extension power cables, etc. to see if it improves things.

Is your still doing it?

Hey tcapp, have you tried a factory data reset as well?
