XG95: What is a "soft reset"?

When i had problem with connecting my iPhone to my XG95 via Airplay 2 i got the advice to do a "soft reset". This fixed the problem, the support couldn't tell me exactly what a soft reset did though. So my question is : what is a "soft reset" and what does it do?

Hi,

A soft reset is in principle a reboot/restart - like when you reboot your computer.

It clears the memory and restarts the software.
