Hi there

When you are plugging in the HDMI cable to the TV, it is best if both devices are switched off. If so, are you able to test using a HDMI cable that you know works? It is also entirely possible that you may need to have a look at the display resolution settings on the DVD player - ensure its set to Auto or something similar.

If things still fail, can you reply back with the model of the DVD player.

Cheers

Hi, first post for me .....

My KDL-43w756C won't recognise my Panasonic DVD recorder when connected via HDMI. Using a scart cable it works OK (albeit with no HD picture). Intially, it did 'see' the recorder and gave it a label, but if I try to use it via an HDMI input, it displays " No signal. Check the external input or select another using the input button". I have a Panasonic soundbase which works fine through the HDMI/ARC input. My laptop appears to connect OK via HDMI.

The DVD recorder is 7 or 8 years old now, could it just be incompatible or is this just another quirk of these TVs?

Thanks,

Garry
